September 2022 Valley meal
Don had 32 RSVPs, we sold 30 plates, maybe 31. We ended up with $17 more in cash than we should have had for 30 plates sold, so I suspect out count of initial plates was off by one (plus $4 bad change). We charged $13.00 per plate for the meal.
Calvin grilled two briskets, one large and one small. He said that the large brisket would have sufficed for the 30 people we served.
Keith made 5 lbs pinto beans with ham hocks, 1 lb with turkey wings in a different crockpot. Had about 1-2 lbs of the ham beans left over, about 1/3 of the turkey beans.
Keith bought 2 large packages of lettuce and 1 of spinach, 2 containers of grape tomatoes, a couple salad dressings, croutons and a package of cranberries. 1 of the packages and half the spinach left over, 1 of the grape tomatoes left over, and about half the croutons/cranberry.
Earl made 36 potatoes, I didn’t count the number left over, but it was a small enough #. and 2 gallons of ice cream.
KSA handled money collection. We came up with $17 more in cash than we should have received for the # of plates sold – I suspect we had 1 more plate when starting than we thought (and made $4 bad change in our favor).
Cleanup after the meal went pretty well. KSA did a good job of helping during the meal and afterward.

We gave the Rainbow Girls $100 for help with setup, serving and cleanup and as a donation to help the girls with their expenses. Vickie did most of the cleanup while the Valley members were in the meeting.
After paying expenses, including donation to Rainbow Girls, we had $72 left to apply to future non-food supplies (like plasticware, plates, etc.
